you may not know it but i can run really, really fast,
unfortunately, generations of enthusiasts,
when it comes to taking a trip to this sublime world,
most of you go for the package tourist's option,
drifting away safely into a storybook fiction,
losing yourselves in picture perfect,
postcard illustrations, go with the flow mentality,
going on forget-it-all reality escapes,
so called beach vacations once a year

you cannot deal with the reality of it all,
it is no wonder that for years creative protagonists
have toil to elevate the boundaries of a banal,
commonplace, day-to-day, so call normal world,
as they struggle to visualize those wild possibilities
that lie on the far side of the safe garden fence

altered states brought on by angry venomous poisons
and downing lethal tonics have been my old associates,
how about making an allowance to be armchair trippers,
