not a message of convenience,
a message of tradition,
personal jericho’s, what are they,
who are they, what have i done,
ruminations, reflections, mirror images,
a likeness, destruction, insanity, similarity

near the dead sea and the jordan river,
in the west bank of palestine,
rest the oldest inhabited city on earth,
the city of worship to lunar deities,
copious springs of life,
the city of palm trees,
the city of ariha,
the fragrant city,

led by joshua,
return from bondage in egypt,
two spies, protected by rahab,
GOD spoke, for six days,
carry the ram's horns in front of the ark,
on the seventh day they marched around
the city seven times blowing the ram's horns

the walls of jericho came crumbling down,
completely destroying the city of palm trees,
every man, woman, and child in it was slaughtered,
who would rebuild the city of jericho,
would do it at the cost of their firstborn child

not a painless message,
no false message here,
the message is clear,
the message is true,
the message is straightforward,
the message is one of redemption,
the message is one of redesign,
