Shanghai can seem, at times, as familiar as any accessory

At the same time, the dwelling still carries
the results of her recent history as a charming tease,
as the shanty girl languishes in the shadows of massive skyscrapers,
she’s likely to be found as just another hole in the terrain

On the whole, however, the shock of intimacy
is overwhelmed by far, with the shock of her flavoured smack

Despite the fact that vast regions of her topography remain
bucolic and pacifying -- hidden to the foreign
visitor – the little shanty girl can find on the
